How we work

Research method

How RDY connects public claims to sources, describes uncertainty, and separates evidence from practical suggestions.

A citation should support the statement next to it. We use sources to check what can reasonably be said, then explain both the finding and its limits in plain language.

General education and practical perspectives. Editorial standards.

Start with the reader’s question

We define the question, relevant age group and setting before drafting. We distinguish neutral definitions and practical household examples from medical, legal, or individualized advice.

Choose sources that fit the claim

For health information, we prioritize current government or professional guidance, followed by systematic reviews and suitable peer-reviewed studies. Education and legal claims need the relevant official jurisdictional source. Reputable secondary sources can provide context; lived experience is labeled as experience.

Check the scope, not just the link

A working link does not establish that a claim is true. We compare each material statement with the source’s population, setting, date, finding, and limitations. Where relevant, we check publication identifiers and available correction or retraction notices. Each guide identifies the particular statement its source supports.

Label practical suggestions separately

Our household exercises are small options readers can consider and adapt. They do not establish efficacy, safety, diagnosis, or an individualized plan. Limited evidence is reported as a limitation, without claiming that an approach works for everyone or cannot help anyone.

A traceable editorial process

We retain page-specific source, claim, and revision records. Our editorial policy explains the tools we use and the work our review labels describe. A source check applies to the particular passage and claim recorded, not every statement in the source or every related publication.

Review and correct

Sources and understanding can change. Preparation dates and access dates are shown separately from any verified professional review. This release has no independent clinical review. Material corrections should change the page and its preparation record; an unresolved claim should be revised or removed.
